Vegetable juice for health and skin
Well no one really likes eating vegetables. Atleast I don't! Yet we are forced to eat them and it's the worst when you have to eat them in the form of a really bad curry. But of course we need to eat them because they are said to reduce the chances of getting heart disease and cancer, they are important sources of nutrients, they contain very little protein or fat, they have no cholesterol and MOST importantly they contain a number of vitamins such as vitamin A, C and E which are said to keep our skin and eyes healthy. So I prefer to gulp down vegetables in the form of juices as fast as possible.
Why is it good for the skin?
Health benefits of individuals Ingredients used to make the juice :
• Carrots- contains anti ageing,wrinkle fighting properties. High in vitamin C which can protect and improve your skin. They are high in beta carotene which the body converts to vitamin A, which is one of the most important nutrients for healthy skin.
• Lemons- lemons are rich in vitamin C, which plays an important role in synthesis of collagen in the body. For this reason, the regular use of lemons - both internally and externally as a part of the diet and on the skin can keep your skin healthy and free from scars.
• Tomatoes- They have an antioxidant called lycopene which acts as a sunscreen from within and has anti-ageing properties too. Tomatoes are acidic in nature and applying their pulp on the pimple causes the skin to dry and the pores of the skin in the region get tightened.
• Green bell peeper- They are loaded with vitamins A, C and K, carotenoids and dietary fiber which are beneficial for the overall good health. They contain high silicon which supports hair and nails. They fight oxidative damage. The antioxidants and photochemicals present in the bell pepper juice makes the skin healthy and youthful.
• Cucumber- They contain both vitamin C and caffeine acid, two antioxidants that prevent wrinkles, sun damage and more. Vitamin C keeps the skin looking young and caffeine acid protects cells from UV radiation.
Ingredients:
1 carrot
2 tomatoes
1/2 capsicum/green bell pepper
1/2 cucumber
1/2 lemon and 1/2 tsp of pepper for taste.
Method:
Chop the vegetables in chunks and puree in a blender. Add water to the puree and blend depending on the consistency required.
•You could leave a small portion of the tomato and a little lime juice for a mask. Mix the juices of the tomato and the lime ,apply on to the skin for about 15 minutes and wash off when it dries. This helps to fade away scars,cures oily skin and large pores.
